Who doesn’t love Saturday?

tulips 001

On Saturdays, I can…

…Stay in my sweats all day, should it please me.

…Go for a long walk and stop for a coffee along the way.

…Go to the library to peruse the seven-day books.  Check out too many.  Realize I’ll never finish them in seven days.  Sigh.

…Vacuum the dust bunnies I’ve been eyeing all week.

…Knit in daylight, with wits about me!

…Chat with my family.

…Write nice juicy e-mails to folks who are wondering if I am, in fact, still alive.

…Inspect the garden to see what sprang during the past week of stormy weather.

…Cook something delicious for dinner.

…Drink a cup of tea, then take a nap.

What will you do with your Saturday?

I love my Saturdays so much. Unless it’s too hot, we throw the dogs in the car and run errands. Yes, my husband and I have a very good time doing grocery shopping for the week, with the dogs smiling in their appointed spots in the car. Then I do equally pedestrian things like pick up dog poop in the yard while throwing tennis balls for the creators of the poop. Read for a bit, maybe some needlepoint, visit my geriatric horse, make something good for dinner. I always feel like such a nerd when someone asks what I did with my weekends but I live for them.

We’re going to see Iron Man! I love summer action movies.

  3. Hopefully a restful day, with knitting… fingers crossed.

  4. What a great idea! So great I stole it.;)

  5. Got up at 6:00 and walked the dog. Went to the farmer’s market, came home and did a load of wash and vacuumed. Changed the beds. Still have miles to go before I sleep; ) I wanna spend Saturday with you!

  6. This Saturday I’m playing catch-up. Garage cleaning, closet cleaning, and laundry. My Saturdays have some “me” time but maybe it gets a bit compressed at times.

Stay warm in this chilly wet weather.

  7. Umm, work right now (shh, taking a break!). After I took the Preteen to a 7 am (!) babysitting job and the Gothlet to a Girls on the Run 5K walk/run (brrr! nasty day for it! I know I ran in winter back in my running days, but give me a snowy day over a rainy windy day anytime! ah, well, I insisted she dress in layers and with fingerless gloves, and a raincoat on top, despite numerous protests. But I bought her a hot cocoa on the way, so I think that restored my mom gold star). Still at work, looking forward to nesting at home later today, but then my husband and friends of ours want to go to Iron Man tonight (must take or start knitting in the dark project, perhaps second “walking sock”, since that might not have been my first choice for a movie, ah, well, it’ll be fun to hang out with them at dinner beforehand!). And take some blog pictures and put some posts up, hooray!

  8. Woke up, blogged, coffee shop, worked out, showered… now I’m going to vacuum, sew a top for tonight, knit and then get all dolled up for the NRA dinner. :D

    Yeah, I’m feeling ambitious.

  9. Woke up at 7:30am. Did laundry. Went to the gym. Ate lunch. Now, what to do, what to do? I have a whole list of things I want to accomplish craft wise – definitely get some knitting and sewing in today. I love Saturdays!

  10. Is it just me or does it seem wrong to get all dolled up for the NRA?

I slept in this morning after getting up at five something to feed the cat. I’m in jammies, looking at blogs and wondering if I can get the cat to make me breakfast since I made hers.

I’m going to work on Icarus today, do some cleaning and enjoy what may be the last coolish day I’ll see in a while.

  11. Saturdays are days without the alarm clock.
I sleep until I wake up.
I try to wake up by 8:15 so I can go to yoga class.
(this week, I got that done).
I have the bestest yoga teacher on Saturday mornings.
Then, I come home feeling all good about myself, and lounge about with my girls, watching “bad TV” that we’ve recorded, and knitting merrily.
I get to go to parties or dancing or just hanging out w/ friends in the evenings.
