Circling Back.

I caved.  I signed up for a Facebook account.  I had to see what the fuss was about.  You know what?  It’s kind of fun.  A few college friends have emerged, and several relatives (the sort I actually want to hear from) in various geographic locations have popped up.  These are the sorts of people I [...]

Wanderings.

A dose of random today.
I still cook.  I just don’t cook with the thought that I’ll blog about it on Wednesdays!   Not much creativity lately, though – just favorite, tried-and-true stuff.  Comforting, familiar, and good for late February.
I still run.  It has been a bit sporadic thanks to winter.  The treadmill at the gym got [...]

Plugging Away.

Here’s a small taste of Gaelic Mist – it’s very difficult to get a decent photo of this one.  I took your advice and very consciously loosened up – it does make things easier.  I can see the light at the end of the cable chart tunnel, and then it’s just a few miles of reverse [...]

Friday Fusion.

It has been a week.  Murphy’s Law seems to have been doing its diabolical little business.  Time to wipe it all off the slate and start fresh, I say!  Here’s some this and that to wrap up the week.
Blogging.  My social networking question seems to have struck a chord.  Or hit a nerve.  Or… well, anyway, [...]

Social Networking?

I’m curious.  How many of you spend time on sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Linked In, Twitter, etc.?
I haven’t gone there.   Blogging and reading blogs and commenting and replying to comments is often too much for me to keep up with, especially if I want to continue knitting and reading books and working out and…  Well, you understand.   [...]

Beginnings.

Sometimes you just have to give in to the voices in your head.  I started Gaelic Mist over the weekend, aided by the semi-annual sale at my LYS (I was never so glad to stand in line for checkout – knitters are clearly doing their part to bring the economy back to life).
I decided to [...]

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Ironical.

Just when I was wondering if I’d ever have another thing to say, Cindy gave me this:

Thank you, Cindy!  Here’s hoping I can live up to it.  (I will refrain from tagging others today, since it’s just too difficult to choose only a handful of favorite blogs!)
One reason for my ennui is that I have all [...]

Not-so-plain vanilla?

I bring you Utilitarian Trekking XXL socks.  This was the third go-around for this yarn, which the thoughtful and lovely Angie gave me last year.  I took far too long to finish these up once I settled on plain vanilla - maybe it’s because the colorway is more like raspberry and chocolate?
US2 birch DPNs, 64 stitches cast on for 2×2 ribbing, [...]

Saturday Funnies.

Brought to you by the generosity of a Creative Commons license, and the funny people here.  Finish your coffee before you browse – especially if you have any geek tendencies.  (Ask me how I know.)
