Have you noticed lots of healthy stuff going on in blogland these days?
There’s the Spring Into Summer challenge, which you can read all about in the link to Kathy’s blog.
Sandy has joined in, and she’s also Kicking the Can. As are other folks. That, and the idea of eating less junk in general, is the “less is more” idea, of course. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains would be the beginning of the “more is more” part – as is exercise!
So I figure it’s time for me to get off my duff and do my part. Time for another 100 Mile Challenge!! (Yes, this means YOU!!) The guidelines (I don’t like to call them ”rules” - this isn’t Stalinist Russia) are simple. Between now and June 21 (the closing of Spring Into Summer), try to log 100 miles of your favorite activity – walking, running, biking, skateboarding, rowing, rollerblading… whatever you please. You might want to post a ticker to track your mileage.
Some people who are already regular exercisers – especially bikers who put in a lot of mileage – might want to set a higher goal. And those of you who haven’t been off the couch in a while might need a lower number to suit your needs. It doesn’t matter – pick a number that works for you. The main thing is to work at it steadily so that regular exercise becomes not only a habit, but something your body tells you it needs in order to function at peak levels.
Who’s in???

Count me in….again;-)
Oh, and the ticker? No clue, so I guess I’ll do it the old fashioned way. K?
Me! I’m doing that other thing too.. but don’t tell anyone.
Isela led me to this little gem of a website for tracking stuff. http://www.buckeyeoutdoors.com/login.html
I just wish I could remember that map my walk thing. Hey! Maybe I’ll google map my walk!
Duh!
Happy Thursday!
How about if I just promise to ride my bike?
Me! Me!
I’ve started, but haven’t blogged about it yet. As for logging the mileage, my pedometer seems to be having some issues lately.
I love you dearly, but I’m trying to kick the can over here and there’s no way I can do both and not end up in jail.
I’ll be rooting for y’all from my desk chair, tho.
You can count me in! I had fun joining ya last time. I’ve been running pretty regulary the past 4 weeks (that’s what unemployment has done for me) so my goal will be 300 miles logged by June 21.
ME!!!! I’m in! I may as well round out the challenge! (And honestly, Nora, if *I* can give up Diet Coke, ANYone can. I’m looking at you!!!

I may just go with a lower number for now. Don’t want to shock my system too much!
xo
Me too! Count me in!!
I’ll be cheering everyone on!
Yeppers, I’ll do it too. I should probably buy new shoes, these are getting a little shopworn. Too bad I can’t knit a pair.
I give it a whirl. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I make it to 100 miles.
I am going to do something. It could be the 100 miles, or it could be the 100 push up challenge.
I will definitely be joining you. The plan for the new year was to go on longer walks with my dogs since my youngest was starting full time school after christmas. It just didn’t happen. They had a run around the park while I stood still. Now the weather is nicer I have no excuses. 100 miles and counting down (or up) once I find my pedometer

I’m in! But one of my favorite things to do nowadays is jumping rope, and I’m not sure how to log mileage on that. But I will log it on the elliptical and the rower, and maybe come up with some way to add the roping in, too, since it’s a substantial portion of my movement these days, and I like the idea of the bit of impact for my bones….
