Random Wednesday on Thursday.

1.  Anyone else a little tired of watching the media circus over swine flu?  Me, too.  This video reflects my sentiments fairly well.
Hey, look:  you can express your fears on Ravelry, too!
2.  Speaking of Ravelry, have you seen that some forum threads are being flagged as “heated discussions?”  Here’s an example.  Whoohooo!  I’m gonna go [...]

My Ten Words.

Ten on Tuesday:  Ten Words People Would Use to Describe You.
1.  Mom
2.  Lawyer
3.  Stubborn
4.  Knitter
5.  Friend
6.  Wife
7.  Nitpicky
8.  Caring
9.  Obsessive
10. Irreverent
I tried to do this quickly, in no particular order.   Feel free to dissent!
Happy Tuesday everyone!

I Couldn’t Help It.

Thanks so much for all the speculation about our Resident Varmint.  We haven’t seen him for a couple of days.  We think he’s either a nutria or a muskrat.  We contacted our village and they were to dispatch someone to do whatever it is one does about varmints.
So, I shared with you what lurks in [...]

Name That Vermin.

Today, I invite my nature-loving readers to opine on the identity of a new resident here at  the home of Knot Much of  Knitter:

Actually, he appears to be living in a neighbor’s abandoned wood pile.
At first glance, he has a cute ground-hoggy appearance.   But look carefully at his tail.
It is not the furry, friendly tail [...]

Gut Check.

Remember Gaelic Mist?  I put it on hold for a while as I attended to other projects.  It sat, suspended at the second-to-last row of the body cable chart (the sweater features a cable pattern all around the bottom of the body, to the upper waist area, when it switches to reverse stockinette for the [...]

Lakewatch* Returns.

Here are some shots from a walk to Big Bay Park the other day.  Not shown:  The sound of the surf, and the black lab obligingly playing fetch in the frigid Lake Michigan water.  Yikes!!
The water was really that brown near the shore.  Things get churned up in the spring.
Once again, the photo uploader exercises wildly erratic [...]

Older is Definitely Better.

I’m doing Ten on Tuesday on Wednesday again.  Yesterday I was busy working that epic bindoff on the Hemlock Ring.  It’s blocking now – hopefully it will be dry and ready to be photographed before the light goes today.
So, Ten Signs That You’re Getting Older?
1.  I’m omitting all the unspeakable physical stuff.  You know what I’m [...]

Anticipation.

I’m looking forward to
… green grass, flowers, and leaves.
… having a few days off, after I power through Monday.
… finishing the labyrinthine bindoff on my Hemlock Ring.
Some of these things are inevitable.  Others, not so much.
Happy Monday all!
