It’s been a tad toasty here in the Land of Cheese this week. This means poor air quality, roads buckling, the city providing “cool spots” for people to go wet themselves down, and lots of Captain Obvious news reports.
I’m not a big fan of super hot weather. However, it is fabulous for the tomatoes, as well as the farmers’ corn crops. The funny thing is that I remember long, hot summers when I was a kid – days and days of sweltering humidity, mostly spent at the municipal swimming pool turning my hair that weird blond it gets from chlorine and sun, and warm summer nights sitting on the porch watching fireflies and heat lightning. Now, these stretches of hot weather don’t seem to last long, and many evenings we wind up needing a sweatshirt outdoors.
Maybe it’s just that Lake Effect. Who knows.
I’m going to be taking a blogging break for a few days. It’s all good! I’ll miss you, but I’ll be back soon!

You can send the heat to me but feel free to keep the humidity. Enjoy your time off!

Hot Icky hot here too. At least I can go jump in the lake? If Texas had built steps or a ladder when he was home. /sigh Best to stay inside and read or knit or *ahem* spin.
Have fun!

It’s not nearly as hot here as it used to be when I was growing up (not that I’m complaining!!) Enjoy your break and hopefully, tomatoes.

I abhor the hot and humids. I just want it perfect, is that too much to ask?? HMMMM?
I remember squirting lemon juice in my hair to get natural “highlights”. What a dork.
Enjoy your break!
