Random Wednesday.

This is my maple tree, up close and personal-like.
I love this tree.
We’ve got lots of pretty fall color here, but the weather has been rather relentlessly gloomy (except when I don’t have my camera).
Made the first pot of chili over the weekend.  You know summer’s over when the chili and jambalaya go into the menu [...]

Meandering.

August is moving way too fast.  I’m having trouble keeping up.
I heard through the grapevine that this week’s Ten on Tuesday was something about “fads we wish had never happened.”  I’m a little past it to make the whole list, but seriously.  Piercings that make others flinch to look at them?  Jeans so low cut [...]

Happy Friday!

And goodbye, July – where did it go?

Weekend plans, anyone?

Zoom Zoom.

That is all.

Completely Random.

I spent the last two evenings reading the first Princess Diaries book.  This is what happens when you live with people who leave those sorts of things lying around.  You know what?  I think I’ll read the next one.
I love Intervention.  Do you think there’s something wrong with me?
Diet root beer is such a delicious [...]

All things in good time, I suppose.
Happy Thursday everyone!  Please, tell me what you’re knitting – maybe it will inspire me!

Knitting? (/Looks Around.) What’s That?

My knitting mojo seems to be vacationing.  Most likely it’s sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Paris, sneering at the oafish Americans and smoking.   And wearing a beret — knit by someone else.
No matter.  It will come back when it runs out of Euros, hopefully without the snotty attitude.
Meantime, I read.  Lately, I’ve been through The Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray [...]

Go Figure.

The D.C. vacation was most definitely not about knitting, or fiber.  I brought a sock to knit on the plane, and that was about it.
Nonetheless, on our last day, minutes before we hopped the train to head for the airport, I stumbled upon this:

And then this:

A few steps further on, and look at this:

And then?  This:

Can [...]

Spring Green.

Things are green, green, green around these parts.

We’ve got maple leaves.

And hosta leaves.

And fern fronds.
It’s probably no accident that my next knitting project will involve this:

Happy Sunday all!  Hope you enjoy the day.
